I went to the same high school as Frank. He was a year ahead of me so I didn't know him well. But what I did know of him he was a really special person. Something about him emulated kindness and a warm heart. I moved out of state a long long time ago so I just found out via other friends on facebook that he has passed. I was saddened and wish I could have been there for the memorial among other things. For me at least I will always have the memory of his big happy smile that I got to see in greeting everyday. My heart is with Frank's family and friends. |

Frank, the world truly was and always will be a better place because of you. I'm so lucky to have had you in my life, even for such a short time. The courage, strength, and love that you exemplified were truly breathtaking. You touched my soul in a way that no one else ever can. I can understand why God wanted you up there with him. Well Frank, I am now 39 weeks prego and after 3 weeks of ordered bedrest, I am soooo ready to have this baby girl!!!!

Since I\'ve heard so much about you and I\'m sure you\'ve heard so much about me, I find it odd that we\'ve never formally introduced. I want to thank you for everything you\'ve done for the world, and especially for my mom. Hey Frank,
Hope this note finds you well and smiling. I have been doing fine....just really tired while baking the little one. I am at 14 weeks now...due date March 18th. Last night, Clark took me to a Social D concert and we got a box suite so I can have a seat and easy access to a restroom. Wow. I used to see SD play for free at Cal State Fullerton. Now, I paid $75 to sit on my ass and drink ice water and run back and forth to the restroom. Sure didn\'t feel very blue collar. Mike Ness was probably laughing at us.

Tex, my long lost hubby, we finally found you!!!! Jerman and I heard you were sick but didn\'t know the extent of it until recently. The only news we were given was that you got married (that alone broke my heart ... lol) and shortly afterward you retired from the department and moved to Europe because you were sick and needed treatment. Having both retired, we\'re out of the loop so updated news is usually twisted around and out-dated by the time it reaches us. You\'ve been on our minds, in conversations, and in our prayers for quite awhile. Thinking you were in Europe, I searched for you on the internet but couldn\'t find you. (Even if you do a facebook search, you don\'t show up among the many \"Frank Teixeira\'s\" listed. Maybe because its under \"Big Fat Love\" which alot of us wouldn\'t know.) Anyhow, we\'ve finally found you and I can\'t tell you how sorry I am for not being there for you sooner.
I found you about 3 days ago and for the first 2 days I cried for you. I asked God, \"Why? Why Tex? He\'s such a wonderful person with such a huge heart. He always has a smile on his face and nothing seems to bring him down. He loves life, works hard, helps others, never complains ... Why him?\"
When I woke up this morning I had peace in my heart after having received an answer: Throughtout life we are faced with many trials and it is up to us to overcome those trials. Some of us have great difficulty overcoming the smallest trials and for others its less of a struggle. You are among the few whose limits far exceed the boundries of even the strongest. Not only have you endured great mental and physical pain, your body has been crippled too ... but through it all even that didn\'t break you because your spirit still stands high. Wow! So awesome!!!
Your story confirms my belief in the goodness in people. I feel blessed when given the opportunity to offer \"Big Fat Love\" but I\'ve found many don\'t feel the same. I always hear, \"Why are you helping that person? You\'re not going to get anything back for it.\" My answer is, \"I DO get something back... it makes me happy and true happiness is felt in the heart, not in the pocketbook.\" What they don\'t realize is that it does come back ... and it comes back far beyond what you may need or even dream. You\'re blessed in ways that even money can\'t buy ... and to top it off, you\'re rewarded in the heart once again.
Now that we\'ve found you and know of your situation, please allow us the opportunity to show \"Big Fat Love.\" Renee and I live near each other and we\'re not too far of a drive from you. We both aren\'t working and have nothing but time on our hands so please let us help. In the very least we want to visit so let me know if and how we can.

Hi, it\'s that guy from years ago at RJD.
Here is the story. I was walking my dog and I ran into G.S. and his wife strolling in Hillcrest after seeing a movie there last month. G. and I both kind of gaped at each other for a moment before launching into a catch up discussion. However, tactful G. did not regal me with gossip or tales of devilish scandals from RJD. He did, however, inform me of the sad news that you were very sick. This had affected him greatly. He took pains to jog my unreliable memory. This caused me to reflect a bit on times upon which I had not dwelt in a long time. G. said \"You remember Tex, a really good guy! Nice looking, younger than us and always smiling.\" or something like that, and then it clicked. I did remember you, even more as the days past following the encounter. I recalled that you were like a CDC \"poster child\" in your \"class A\'s\" with laughing blue eyes. Always with a relaxed yet professional demeanor and never unpleasant. G. mentioned the group efforts to assist you. I would have liked to have talked more as he and his charming wife gradually took there leave. I needed a little time to think about this terrible news.
As the days passed you kept coming to mind and I was wondering how I could track you down. I watch little TV, but laying there resting the other day I saw this news story. As it unfolded they said something about a \"Frank Teshera\" and I roused up a bit. I said to myself \"Hmmm, this sounds like what G.S. was talking about. Suddenly I realized it WAS about you! I had been mispronouncing your name all those years! And suddenly there was my old partner, S., from H.U.13 back in 1987, talking to the news interviewer! (Poor S. had to get partnered up with me! Hahaha!) I grabbed a pen and that\'s how I got \"here\" today. Verily, necessity is the mother of invention!
Tex, my own mother was also a victim, felled by ALS at age 73. She was living in an apt. alone and had been having me deliver groceries and doing stuff for her for a long time, as she slowly declined. This was when I was a C/O. She would not tell me, or let the doctors tell me, what was wrong with her. I never knew until I read her death certificate. Anyway, I was already working in Parole when she finally needed more help than they were giving her. I moved her out of the care facility in Chula Vista and into our house in University Heights. My partner of 16 years and I took care of her until she, was finally released from her suffering. Remembering her pain, and the experience we had trying to make her comfortable, my heart goes out to you and your family! My mom become closer during the care and I am thankful for that. I was stressed from my tough P.A. job and taking care of her and my partner, who is deaf and can\'t drive. Once I lost my temper about some silly thing and mom scolded me from her chair that also served as her bed. \"You have ADD, just like your father! Hahaha! I even remember the arguments and miss her.
This illness that has attacked you, and the resulting financial situation is really fucked up!! It is a mystery why the truly good seem to die young. Take me for example. I was a 17 year old hippie when my high school \"buddy\" and I drove in his Mustang to Woodstock. Then I moved to Laguna Beach and finally lived a careless, biker life (Mine was a chopped 1966 H.D. XLCH) in Humboldt county for 10 years after that. (I saw your own sweet looking scoot in a picture from the garage sale. I know it must have broke your heart to part with it.) I have no kids, and few will miss me. But you, on the other hand...(sigh) I am so sorry this happened to you!
Heh, like I said, I enjoyed looking at your pictures. What a happy and honorable life is pictured there! I was also astounded at the Big Fat Love presence on the web! (How did we live before computers! Hahaha!)
Tex, what has befallen you and your family is terrible! You SHOULD have been able to retire, when you wanted to, (like I did, to the surprise of many I\'m sure. Hahaha) Hell, I have even been \"dying\" from Hepatitis C, since 1969, but I just keep living! You are a fighter also, what else can one do? We are all rooting for you, my friend.
In closing, I mention that I am going to Puerto Vallarta for a few weeks. I will check in with you after I return on the 27th, and stop by, if you want. Let me know if something comes to mind and good luck.

So, I went to my Dr. today and got to say hello to the kidcicles: Frankita, Frankina, Frankella, and Lil Tex. :) Hope you had an awesome day visiting with Dina!! She REALLY wanted to be down in San Diego with you last Friday.
Don\'t forget...only 11 days until we rock the Seattle Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon! They cut the course in 4 hours, but I\'m shooting for best in weight class...yeah!!!! I may be slow, but I go the distance for friends. (OK, you can stop laughing now.)

My name is Jeff Sebern and I am A co worker and friend of Germano Dicarlo. He told me about you today and how much he cares for you. Hi Frank! Just a quick note to say \"hi\" from us. We want you to know we think of you often. My daughter Megan and some of her friends wore \"Big Fat Love\" T-Shirts at Meg\'s B-day party last week, which of course made me think of you. We go to the Columbia River Washington Temple quite often since it\'s right down the street, and when we\'re there we always put your name in the temple. Hi Frank! We went to a square dance in Bakersfield last night. After the dance we got to talking to a very nice lady -- your Mom. She mentioned your website - and I just looked at all the pictures! What WONDEFUL Friends and Family you have! We retired from work in Anchorage Alaska in July 2006 and have been traveling in our motorhome since then. We have now been in 26 states and have seen almost all our Family and Friends. We are going to the Square Dance Nationals in Long Beach at the end of this month. Then we will head through Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming on our way to South Dakota and the Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis South Dakota the first part of August.
I will lift You and Your Family up during my daily devotions.

Hey Frank, It\'s been a long time...Orangeview long time! I hope you remember who I am. Once in a while I get caught in moments where I think about my old friends from Orangeview...you, Pat juan, Jim Park, Ray McMannis and the rest of the gang. I recently discovered this thing called \"FaceBook\" and I have reconnected with some old friends like Irene Danielson, Rhonda, Debbie, Greg, and the list goes on. Irene was the first one to find me on FB and she told me about your condition and I have to say I was in shock and in disbelief. I thought to myself, how could something this happen to someone like him?? From what I remember of you Frank was this guy who I thought had everything, Looks, great personality, surfed, was thoughtful of others, and could get any chick he wanted!! haha. The Surf City 1/2 marathon was awesome!!! I can\'t wait to show you some pictures and cool surfboard metal. I am going to try to make it down to San Diego on Sunday, Feb 15th.
Joining me today was Maureen Glynn, Stacy \"Hodge\" Guerra, and Sophia (my friend\'s 15 yr old daughter).
Dina and Colleen made signs and cheered us on at PCH and 1st street. Were all sending out some good thoughts and BIG FAT LOVE throughout the day.
Oh, and your name and website was on my Honda Pilot driving all the way from Redlands to HB to Torrance, Cypress and back to Redlands. I am glad to see that someone spotted the car and was inspired to write to you.

Here\'s a little twisted humor for you. Clark and I wore our Big Fat Love t-shirt and hat to a birthday dinner for our friend. I hope you are having a nice week. I wanted to let you know that my boys truly love their Big Fat Love sweatshirts. Just this morning, I dressed Trevor in a Spiderman track suit, but he refused to wear the matching jacket. He said he wanted to wear his Big Fat Love jacket. Since I was turning on the alarm and walking out the door, I fibbed and told him that I still needed to clean the Big Fat Love jacket. Trevor came up with the brilliant idea of taking the jacket and dragging it out the door stating, \"I don\'t want to put on this jacket. I will make it dirty.\". Not really funny at the time, but I laughed all the way to work. :)

Hey Frank, long time huh? I just recently heard about your health condition, but listen, the body is an amazing machine and there is nothing it can\'t overcome, I really believe that. Don\'t ever stop fighting or give up hope. Well, I do have some great momories from when we were in school. My fondest memory though was when I finally got my picture taken with you on the last day of school, LOL. You were always the nicest guy in school. Frank... Leslie and I caught up with some friends over the weekend. They all said they were personally inspired by your story and the way we have all come together. Next July 4th will mark the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig\'s famous farewell speech at Yankee Stadium. The last time I saw you, you were running at the Cypress College track. We were both in training, hoping to make the cut. I was so happy to hear several years later you finished the training and were working in the San Diego area.
I still live near Cypress College. Some times when I’m rushing off to work (usually because I’m late…..), I catch a glimpse of the people at the track. It makes smile and reminisce how my biggest concerns were essays and how many times I can run around that damn track. Blissfully ignorant, good times…......

Just a little post to let you know I am sending prayers out to you. I don\'t know if you remember me from school...as Tina Granados. I on the other hand could never forget you and your beautiful blue eyes! I heard from the ladies that you still have that incredible sparkle ***
I recently moved back to Southern CAL after a long stay in Humboldt County. We had some beautiful beaches up there but the waves and water temps were hazardous to many, and only the bravest souls could surf it.

Hey Frank, Happy Birthday!!! You may not remember me, but we\'re longtime Centralia, Orangeview, and WHS school mates. What can I possibly say?? When I heard of your situation from an e-mail, I broke down right there at my desk and let it all out!! The last time I saw and spoke to you was at the WHS 5 year reunion. I did not attend the 10 or 15 but I did make it to the 20 year. Of all the people that attended and all of those that did not, there were just a very small handful of people that I actually missed not being able to see. Guess what buddy, you were right in the middle of them. The older I\'ve gotten, the more sentimental I\'ve become and cherish each moment with friends and family that much more. By the looks of all the messages and the efforts of your friends to help...you\'ll never, ever, have to worry about running out of any of that \"Big Fat Love.\" No matter what happens, never lose faith!! You\'re surrounded by so many good people it makes the rest of us jealous. God has a plan and with your attitude, spirit, and that BIG smile, I\'m sure your a big part of that plan!!

Frank, you were always one of my favorite people on Adams Way, and were really my frist friend at a new elementary school.
